Using maps to help locate volunteer management resources, e.g. forums, networks, groups, events, training, venues, etc.

Acronyms and jargon
Assumption that everyone knows for example what a blog actually is, is there a different between the blog page and the home page, visually not I feel?
4 votesunder review ·The difference between the different sections will hopefully develop as the amount of content on the website increases. At the moment there is relatively little content on the site. And so there’s actually quite a lot of crossover between the different sections on the site.
Editorially the concepts behind the different sections are the following:
Front page: is for any piece of content on the site that we particularly want to highlight. At the moment it’s only content editors that can make this selection. But personally I’m open to widening this up to any member. We’ll see how it goes though for the time being.
Blog: is for content that is particularly newsy and is a member’s particular point of view on an issue. Any member can post in the blog section.
Discussion boards: the forums are a catch all for any kind of posting (info, articles, events, jobs, etc)… more

it is possible to give every user on the site the option to change the colour scheme and look and feel of the website. I can put this on the slate for development.

How do I get my thoughts, opinions, ideas onto frontpage?
(Easy guide to putting things on the site, e.g, how do I put a photo with the comment?)

We can make it so anyone logged in on the site can decide which ‘block’ (piece of content) in the right hand columns is hidden. This is not so complicated to implement- so we can put it on the slate to add soon. I’ll let you know when we’re ready for testing.

Hide polls
I think the polls are useful, and interesting, however once you have cast your vote it seems to clutter up the front page
